What training programs does the Paws Chateau Training Academy offer?
The Paws Chateau Training Academy offers a variety of training programs designed to meet your dog’s individual needs and your training goals. Our programs include Daycamp & Train, Board & Train, and Group Training Classes, providing flexible options for dogs of all ages, experience levels, and learning styles.
Which training program is right for my dog: Board & Train, Daycamp & Train, or Group Classes?
The best training program depends on your dog’s personality, your training goals, your schedule, and how involved you would like to be in the training process.
Board & Train
Best for: Owners who travel frequently, have busy schedules, or want the fastest, most structured progress.
During a Board & Train program, your dog stays with us and receives multiple one-on-one training sessions each day in a structured environment. This option is ideal for building a strong foundation, addressing more challenging behaviors, or making significant progress in a shorter period of time. Owners receive follow-up instruction to ensure they can maintain their dog’s new skills at home.
Recommended for:
- Busy owners with limited time for daily training
- Owners who travel and need boarding combined with professional training
- Dogs that benefit from a highly structured learning environment
- Dogs working on more complex obedience or behavioral challenges, including many reactive dogs
Daycamp & Train
Best for: Dogs that already attend daycare or owners looking to incorporate training into their dog’s regular weekly routine.
Your dog enjoys the social and enrichment benefits of daycare while also receiving private training sessions throughout the day. This program is an excellent choice for reinforcing good manners, improving obedience, and continuing training without an overnight stay.
Recommended for:
- Dogs that already attend daycare
- Owners wanting steady progress while maintaining their normal routine
- Dogs needing reinforcement of obedience and everyday manners
- Dogs that are comfortable in a daycare environment
Group Training Classes
Best for: Owners who want to actively participate in their dog’s training and learn how to communicate effectively with their dog.
Group classes provide hands-on instruction while teaching owners the techniques needed to continue training at home. They also offer valuable opportunities for dogs to practice obedience around real-world distractions in a controlled setting.
Recommended for:
- Owners who enjoy learning and training alongside their dog
- Puppies and dogs learning basic or intermediate obedience
- Dogs that can remain comfortable and focused around other dogs and people
How do you keep dogs safe during training and group play?
Your dog’s safety and well-being are our highest priorities. Every aspect of our training and daycare programs is designed to provide a safe, structured, and closely supervised environment where dogs can learn, play, and thrive.
We maintain safety through several important measures:
- Temperament Evaluations: Every dog completes a temperament assessment before joining our daycare or group training programs. This allows us to evaluate each dog’s personality, play style, confidence level, and social skills so we can ensure they are placed in the most appropriate environment.
- Separate Play Areas: We operate dedicated facilities for large and small dogs, allowing dogs to interact with others of similar size and play style. This significantly reduces the risk of injury and creates a more comfortable experience for every guest.
- Continuous Staff Supervision: Dogs are supervised by trained team members at all times. We maintain appropriate staff-to-dog ratios so our team can actively monitor interactions, redirect inappropriate behavior, and ensure every dog remains safe and engaged.
- 24-Hour On-Site Care: Unlike many facilities, Paws Chateau has staff on-site 24 hours a day, providing continuous supervision and immediate response should any need arise during your dog’s stay.
- Live Webcams: Owners of dogs staying in our eligible suites can check in on their pets anytime through our live webcam system, providing added peace of mind while their dog is boarding with us.
Our trainers and daycare staff are experienced in reading canine body language and recognizing the earliest signs of stress, overstimulation, or conflict. By proactively managing play groups and training sessions, we help prevent problems before they occur.
While no environment involving dogs can ever be completely risk-free, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of supervision, safety, and care so that every dog has a positive, enjoyable, and secure experience at Paws Chateau.
How does the 1-Week Daycamp & Train program work?
Our 1-Week Daycamp & Train program combines professional, one-on-one training with the fun and enrichment of daycamp, allowing your dog to return home each evening while making meaningful progress throughout the week.
Each day, your dog receives four private 20-minute training sessions with one of our certified trainers. Every training plan is customized to your dog’s individual needs and may focus on obedience, leash manners, impulse control, confidence building, or addressing specific behavioral challenges.
Because training requires significant mental focus, each session is followed by a period of rest and relaxation. These recovery periods are an essential part of the learning process, allowing your dog time to process new skills, avoid mental fatigue, and remain motivated throughout the day.
When you pick up your dog each afternoon, your trainer will provide a brief progress update along with homework exercises to practice that evening. These short training assignments help reinforce what your dog learned during the day and encourage consistency between professional training sessions and home life.
At the conclusion of the program, you’ll participate in a one-hour private training session with your trainer. During this session, we will:
- Review everything your dog learned throughout the week.
- Demonstrate the commands and behaviors your dog has mastered.
- Teach you the techniques and handling skills needed to continue the training at home.
- Provide guidance on reinforcing good behaviors and maintaining long-term success.
- Answer any questions you may have about your dog’s training or future goals.
Approximately one month after completing the program, we’ll schedule a follow-up session to evaluate your dog’s progress, address any challenges you’ve encountered, and provide additional coaching to help ensure continued success.
Our goal is not only to train your dog, but also to give you the knowledge, confidence, and tools needed to build a lasting partnership with your dog long after the program is complete.
How does the 1-Week Board & Train program work?
Our 1-Week Board & Train program provides your dog with an intensive, structured training experience while they enjoy a comfortable stay at Paws Chateau.
Each day, your dog participates in four private 20-minute one-on-one training sessions with one of our certified trainers. These sessions are tailored to your dog’s individual training goals and may focus on obedience, manners, leash skills, impulse control, confidence building, or addressing specific behavioral challenges.
Because learning is mentally stimulating, each training session is followed by a period of rest. Just like people, dogs need time to process new information, and these recovery periods are an important part of the learning process. Balancing training with adequate rest helps your dog remain engaged, reduces stress, and improves long-term retention of the skills they are learning.
At the end of the program, you’ll meet privately with your trainer for a comprehensive go-home lesson. During this session, we’ll:
- Review everything your dog learned during the week.
- Demonstrate the commands and techniques your dog has mastered.
- Teach you how to communicate effectively with your dog.
- Show you how to continue reinforcing the training at home.
- Provide guidance for maintaining consistency and long-term success.
Approximately one month after your dog returns home, we’ll schedule a follow-up session to evaluate your dog’s progress, answer any questions, and provide additional coaching to help ensure you and your dog continue building on the foundation established during the Board & Train program.
Our goal isn’t simply to train your dog during their stay—it’s to equip your entire family with the knowledge and confidence to achieve lasting success together.
